Ottawa’s second Social Capital Conference has come and gone, and what a day it was! This year’s conference was bigger than last year and sold out yet again. They added some more streams so there was even more amazing content to chose from, yet the panels were all of an intimate size that encouraged discussion.
I had the pleasure of attending with Sean from Lasting First Impressions, who traveled to Ottawa to attend [and spend the weekend with Jeff and I]. We did a mix of blog and small business sessions and had a chance to catch up with lots of Ottawa small business tweeps and local bloggers. The networking and socializing at this event is just as good as the panels, and they provide ample break time for you to make the most of it.
I had some really great take-aways from the sessions, from practical tips and tricks to some good introspective food for thought; it all got me reinvigorated about writing, blogging and social media. Summer is often a bit of a down time for personal blogs, and this conference comes at a perfect time to get me re-focused and excited about blogging.
If you’re passionate about social media, whether it’s for your blog, personal site or business, Social Capital Conference is a great investment. Follow them on Twitter or Facebook for conference updates.
