Blissdom Canada wraps up the conference with a costume and karaoke party. I didn’t have a costume and knew I wanted something fun that I would feel good in. I also wanted to make my own costume for environmental reasons, cost savings and just for fun. I don’t sew but I’m pretty crafty, so I knew I could come up with something!
I decided on a Flapper Girl costume, since I love to dress up and don’t get nearly enough occasions to wear high heels and fishnets. I looked online for inspiration and realized that a lot of the look was in the accessories, and came to the conclusion it was something I could pull off with minimal expense. (more…)

Blissdom was very fun, but I found it a long time to be away from home. I enjoy my “me time” but I enjoy it more in small doses. With traveling I was gone four days and I found that to be a bit much. The kids and Jeff were great, they had fun and managed just fine without me, it’s me. Saturday evening I was sad and teary talking to everyone at home on FaceTime. Thankfully my friends pulled me out of that and I had a fabulous time Saturday night, but all in all I was more than ready to come home at the end of it all. (more…)

Wow. I just got back from Blissdom Canada and I’m a bit overwhelmed by all the thoughts spinning in my brain. I plan on posting a few of the highlights later, but for now I just wanted to put up a quick “hello” message to those of you I may have met briefly or exchanged business cards with who may be visiting here for the first time.
